Change

Change

A Poem by Robin
"

in a glance

"

So it goes

like sticks on barbed wire

I watch the want rattle in a child's hand

diamond flashes

peeling white pickets of boredom

pony girl rustling  fallen leaves

tempest restless - humming

rainbow in a teardrop

her sunbeam squint , furrows of tomorrow

a chrysalis

hidden under the jade of a grapevine

a cat and a spider on a broken fence

torn web and a tilted paw

blackbirds spun the horizon

as jets streaked my blue sky

imagist and powerful as memory, where feelings flash on us like cinematic stills, in shades of warm and fragrance.

i seem to find foothold in every singe line.

this one
'a chrysalis
hidden under the jade of a grapevine'

and the last two, extra- especially,
--- such breathless beauty.

Reminds me of a song by "Iron & Wine". Your work has a Sam Beam quality to it.

Love the imagery in this...it flashes by, reflecting changes. This is really really good and a joy it was to read. You do impressive work.

far more than miniature observations, why not magickal masterpieces of what there is: ' .. a chrysalis ~ hidden under the jade of a grapevine ~ a cat and a spider on a broken fence ~ torn web and a tilted paw .. '

As always some of your vocab is just exceptional, I liked:

"rainbow in a teardrop

her sunbeam squint , furrows of tomorrow "

beautifully and exuberantly dizzying merrygo round of sensory images popping open between the eyes and the mind like seedling in a summer swirl of air~

Fantastic observation in a clear form to describe change.

'diamond flashes
peeling white pickets of boredom
pony girl rustling fallen leaves
tempest restless'

enchanting lines, the metaphors of change falling thick and fast, the delicate spiders web contrasting with the jet tearing through the sky, man's hand shaping the landscape. You have an amazing ability to conjure images that captivate the imagination. Fantastic!
