Weathering words

Weathering words

A Poem by Robin
"

finding meaning

"

most never notice

wingless angels who sit near fountains

who without words split clouds

to let you peer into the meaning of gold

imagining thrones and tilted crowns
white queens and impossible things

as the cat-eyed sun stares

you bow and shake your head

and you blink -

because the stars suddenly appear

as a moth queries a parking lot light

and you feel the wind dip its sable brush

into rainpuddle shimmers

and I shiver

stepping into star beams

feeling each pinprick of light

lost in time

and up there I noticed

seraphs swimming in the ether of night

the fountain bubbled sweetly

and I turned to listen to its song

to see a wingless angel

who without words

let me find

the meaning of gold

I love it! Your own unique truth and meaning to life- starts with self.
Pondering upon the beauty of your surroundings and appreciation for "wingless angels who sit near fountains who without words split clouds to let you peer into the meaning of gold" and understanding your own perceptions of your "gold."

i;ve read this now... 6? times... and am just slammed by the grace of it every time. i don't think i have words... (which.. in itself is a miraculous kind of grace). the kind of .. kinship to have with anything or anyone .. the kind that lets you grow and discover and find meanings.. those are the things to treasure above all else.

The phrase "the meaning of gold", I think is the life blood of this poem. And the strange imagery effectively adds to its enigmatic beauty. But I didn't wholly understand the second stanza and why the angle was "wingless". Rather, I'd have it as such.

Most of your poems fits David Orr's description of Modern Poetry: Beautiful, and Pointless (An appreciation!!).

Keep writing.

Yes..serene and beautiful. There are some lines which are delicate and lovely :

feeling each pinprick of light

lost in time

'who without words split clouds'

You write with such gentle skill..thank you for your words.

Reads like an insider's view, a narrative, carrying us along for a ride... and a fantastical ride as it is. You have a unique ability to bring the reader along on your journeyings.
