Tomcat Moan

Tomcat Moan

A Poem by Robin
"

a collab with MuSe Ampoule

"

look at that cat ...

tearing 3 am out of my morning
          mourning rising dawn
forsake dreams to wake the dead
          cursing night players
screaming mythos from my head
and I wondered
if that clock cared
3 clangs rang… and bang
a pillow full of grit
roman numerals underhand
three i's - capitalized
her story in Greek

just wanted to sleep
you know as well as I
          ...sleep is for the dead
The sand man commeth
but not for my sad head
          leaves me lost

          clock staring mad
and that damned cat
too chicken to fight

Full moon and arched backs

cross-eyed pheromones

that low feline moan

and my window is open

          to suggestion -

          a brick… or that

          broken red stiletto

          she left here long ago

red always looked good on her ...

All I's got ta say is... you rock! You've turned me on to Kerouac and made a wonderful dance partner! You started the crazeetrain with the first two lines and working with you was near effortless!

Any time you want to leak your muse on me...feel free!

Yes, I did enjoy this work, so much so I thought I felt the breeze as a red stiletto heal flew past my head. Did you ever get the cat? Very wonderfull imaginative read.

haha how did I miss this!? two of my favourite writers - this break is most inconvenient! i love the surreality in this one - it's all whimsical and slightly mad at parts which i just adore haha there are hints of both of you - but overall - who can tell - it all blends and moves together - i love the "my window is open to suggestion - a brick" ha! nice - well done you two!!

Oh, this is awesome collaboration. You two complement each other fantastically. This has a beat and tempo feel to it. I was tapping my feet in rhythm. Wonderful, wonderful job.

I really like the enumerating broken lines, they act like a metronome to this jazzy poem.

This is like a cocktail mixed by four hands holding, a dash of this and that, stirred and definitely shaken by those early morning sounds. Love the winding down .. but not choosing fave lines, that would be so unfair! :)

This is really good! I generally don't like broken line poems, like this, but for some reason this flows very well, and I like the transition from animal to woman (but not completely). Great job, both of you :)
