Midnight Ink

Midnight Ink

A Poem by Robin
"

Bliss

"

midnight through venetian blinds

the city murmurs below

your bed of satin dreams

a red candlelit shrine

our naked prelude

my fingertips trace your spine

slowly  ...

caressing each moment

a velvet whisper

you lean into me

and a sliver of light

catches my breath

prismatic

radiant

a cascade of midnight ink

flowing through your eyes

ethereal

indelible

bliss ~

Vivid from the outset. "Midnight through venetian blinds" sets the tone perfectly - atmospheric, romantic, urban, a juxtaposition of simple nature and simple utilitarianism. Soft, breathy sounds throughout capture the feel, plenty of sibilance and short syllables capture the soft, intimate, growing excitement, we feel you close, your breath starting to accelerate, softly, with excitement... the tension is built beautifully, but delicately in this poem, it has loads of feel. This is a poem about anticipation, and the reader feels it ;-)

Man, I wish...I wish...I wish I could be in this place. Very nice, sir; sensual, thoughtful, and all around gorgeous piece you've written up here. You speak to the yearnings of good men, I'd say.

I love romantic poems.. :) I love the way the city continues in all it's mundane existence, oblivious to the magical experience occurring above.

This is a beautiful piece. I really love the sensuality of it. I've always enjoyed the play of moonlight and in fact, any light coming through darkness.

Beautiful piece.

This poem read as a photograph, with its own kind of light in a some exotic location, with some fantastic lover! I can see why you like surrealism.

Penetrating deep, to the core of indelible acts, the ink begins to slowly bleed as the candlelight flickers through velvet shades of dreamland and moonshine against the May leaves of a butterfly as beautiful as the name Robin
