Alpenglow

A Chapter by Robin
"

California Koans

"

I knelt to touch

the alpine heather

along this remote trail

as I created my steps through history

I climbed with the moon over sawtooth peaks

reflections upon a hidden lake

this secluded pool before my eyes

a treasure in the wilderness

illuminated

I'm always amazed at the multitude of life on the mountain. So many flowers, from microscopic size to mammoth size. HIdden streams that play hide and seek, small saplings and towering 200 year old firs.... millions of acres and a pristine silence where it all seems you can hold it in the palm of your hand. Treasures indeed.

I have so thoroughly enjoyed these three beautifully written chapters. When I want an escape from the humdrum world, I know I can visit your writings for a trip to paradise. Beautiful work, Robin!

in all these pieces, Robin, you've captured perfectly Northern California for me - spent many a summer there and will never forget the smell of the pine trees or the dusty trails that I wandered. lovely.
