Alpenglow

A Chapter by Robin
"

California Koans

"

I knelt to touch

the alpine heather

along this remote trail

as I created my steps through history

I climbed with the moon over sawtooth peaks

reflections upon a hidden lake

this secluded pool before my eyes

a treasure in the wilderness

illuminated

I'm always amazed at the multitude of life on the mountain. So many flowers, from microscopic size to mammoth size. HIdden streams that play hide and seek, small saplings and towering 200 year old firs.... millions of acres and a pristine silence where it all seems you can hold it in the palm of your hand. Treasures indeed.

these have such a presence. you capture not so much a moment, as a momentary impression. not the mountains themselves but the mountains' movement in you.
warm and luminous.

This is amazing. It doesn't have to have a lot of detail for me to have the perfect image in my head. Also, the place you selected to describe is great.

you have painted a truly visceral picture with this poem. Like Alice, you seem to view the world through different eyes than most. :)

Discovery. An arduous path leading to a glorious reward. The journey and its companions.. Sometimes loneliness and inspiration are the best companions, one can potentially have..Great going !!

To me it sounds like a little piece of Heaven here on Earth.
And hopefully it will stay there.. untouched other than the heather by a kind human hand. Climbing with the moon, I like those words together.
