Maria

Maria

A Poem by Robin
"

looking across memory lane

"

Maria always looked down

when she softly spoke

then raise her eyes , biting

full lips that spilled desire

a silhouette cut for little black dresses

black hair that flowed in gentle waves toward her hips

she danced with both arms in the air

and snapped her head back

when she laughed

tequila made her smile

watching her fingers trace the rim

I knew she wanted more

she leaned against me

graced her cheek against mine

whispering delicately into my ear

and lit the fires of the night to come ...

This is a stunning story you have painted in this poem. The allure of women. Everyone has their own special encounter that they can remember of course mine is about a man but as humans we all can relate to this poem quite well. I like that I can picture this scene in my mind clearly.

This makes me think of the song Mr. Jones, simply because it says Maria. :P Please excuse the randomness.

What a beautiful lane - I would say I wish I could see it the way you see, but you painted everything just fine with your words. Perfect.

Tequila can open some doors that you may want to keep open. I like this poem. I was a single man for 12 years in the army. A sweet whisper allow the possibility of a good night to come. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Tequila makes me giggle...but this lovely, gentle yet sensual trip down memory lane certainly made me smile...(reminds me of Joe Dolan's song..."Hush, hush Maria")
