The Woman with Storyteller Eyes

The Woman with Storyteller Eyes

A Poem by Robin
"

Inspired by the eyes of Devi~

"
I heard her  voice

in the pristine silence of my dreams

she spoke with mesmerizing beauty

of distant Gods

and warriors of love

of silver rivers,  where iridescent birds

unfurled their ornate wings

and carried the seeds of dreams

to scatter upon the barren dust of life

she spoke of a garden of poets

who drew their ink from the heart

and poured their souls

in the penumbra of ancient light

I heard her scream to demons

those hiding behind the guise of love

and admired her will

       fearless in her grace

       brave in her pain

her voice was one of healing

of how dragons become beautiful

when carved in jade

and that love ,  was perhaps the only truth one need to learn

and there,

in the stillness

my eyes were led to a lonely star

where I felt a teardrop upon the cheek of

a weary sage

my heart forever touched

listening to the voice of  my soul

alive,  as I peer into the midnight sky

in the gaze of

the woman  with story teller eyes

It's listening to a friend share a happening - with care and forethought. The tones brought it to life and the heart kept it there.

You have painted quite a picture and described very eloquently the emotions stirred by a true storyteller. Nizhoni!
