Skin

Skin

A Poem by Robin

I have stood on this edge

between soul and circumstance

between sun and storm

where scars and ink

circle the night

in a silent prayer

of love

and compassion

moved by the mystery

the silk wings

of a sunshone ray

guided by the whisper

of the poetic moon

where the spirit moves gently

to the kiss of

freedom ~

I love the terrific moment you've decided to word here. Like finally picking out some letters to put to a hymn we all know. Your short line form perfectly delivers your style, which to me after now reading you for some time, is weightless in its tone, limitless in its sweeping ideas and always spiritual.

'guided by the whisper

of the poetic moon'

lovely phrasing in this poem, i loved the contrasts in the beginning and the spirit of freedom and poetry that glides effortlessly throughout. fantastic.

i always admire a Poem that when you go through the reviews on i, you can find a wide array of views and impressions. it shows the words in the poem had meaning and where not just a rifted list of rhyming sounds.
this IS one of those poems. and I thank you greatly for sharing it :D
i like the flow of thoughts represented here, though i feel like there is more personal meaning to this, like it is a story that does not have a middle just the beginning and ending result.
great diction and flawless grammar.

I've read this 3 times before commenting, partly to deepen my understanding of it but partly because I love its flow which reflects the skin of its title. My favourite line? The silk wings of a sunshone ray. What a lovely expression. And the final line is so fitting. I'm new to this site so I'm gathering friends. I hope that you will join me in friendship and perhaps take a look at my work. Thank you so much for posting this.

I love how this felt when I read it, and the thoughts it provoked. Very beautifully written.

A body of beautiful words for sure, but it's not only the outside that matters but the beat of the heart that's hidden. Those last five lines say it all.
