Totem Sky

Totem Sky

A Poem by Robin
"

solitude

"
in solitude

I am a man

a prayer to the dragonfly moon

tattooed heart wrapped in the poetry of the night

her brushstrokes against the soul

the call of the coyote reverberating

the spirit

reflective indigo pools

contemplative sanctuary

this eternal breath

of lucid clarity

my dream

awakening ...

and my hand rose to the morning sun

and a feather fell from the totem sky

and I listened to a yes

within the redhawk's cry

as I rest upon the white sands

and I listened to the wind find her wings

and I felt it ...

love

flowing through me

as I remembered

every smile

every heart break

upon her sacred face

we knew that love was never a possession

to wrap in gold

or bind in oath

but to simply be

in appreciation of

the gift

and when the Sun drifts over the western peaks

I will draw close to this primal flame

and pause under the lullaby moon

in solitude

I am human

I will dream

I will love

My new favorite of yours.
Breathtaking! You express what most do are never lucky enough to understand. Your knowledge of love and pure understanding of nature's voice is stunning. I do not like to quote favorite lines, however, this stuck in my mind: " love

flowing through me

as I remembered

every smile

every heart break

upon her sacred face

we knew that love was never a possession

to wrap in gold

or bind in oath

but to simply be

in appreciation of

the gift"
Speaks volumes!

What value would my review have to someone who knows the wonder of their art'? I cannot, therefore, speak of the writing, only the appreciation felt for the privilege of reading it.

Right there....right there you grabbed me and took me up, wide eyed and believing

You're a man beyond the skies, a friend of love and light, a soul of bliss and song, and a pure heart on what the world needs~ you're my best old friend of the universe, and I will sing this with you!

I don't think you need "to wrap in gold" - i think "to bind in oath" says it very well. An enjoyable read.

'within the redhawk's cry

as I rest upon the white sands'

difficult to choose a line to highlight in this there were so many i liked, but maybe i was just in the mood to read this! i love the line 'I am human', humanity at its best is something very special but it also hints at the vulnerability we all share. never stop dreaming. fantastic.

In solitude is the sublime way to recognize and adopt our totems. To me, this piece exemplifies the intimate process and acceptance of the symbols and their meaning to our lives. Bravo Robin.
