UnsubstantialA Poem by Roseanne W.this is actually a poem i wrote back in 2003, at the time i was very mad at a friend ::shrug::
This unsubstantial love affair,
My weakness and your “curse”. We don’t fight, we scream, We coexist in grievances. There’s too much “he said she said,” And not enough of us. We stop talking for a while, Calling all our demons back, Forgiving enmity circumstances make forgot. Before the cycle starts again, Once more two wolves at each other’s throats. I make you mad You make me cry You play sick jokes upon my mind I sing a soul-sick lullaby. It seems to me we can’t live like this, And, yet can’t be without this hell-sent bliss. We love each other and hate ourselves. And chaos is our relationship. A giant labyrinth of tangled hair, Of pure rot and hideous knots, Our voices echoing off of every fiber, So loud the def can hear our pleas. It’s the blind leading the blind, To a destination we can’t cite, Can‘t see, can‘t find. To a reward unwanted anyway, To a trophy long grown dust and grey. And still we continue on this crooked road, To a home of sharded glass and mold. I wonder sometimes what makes our cursed existence last What keeps us striving, What makes the pain worth baring. What makes the unsubstantial acceptable. © 2011 Roseanne W.Author's Note
