It's been a while now,

Since I saw that perfect smile,

And I can't help but think,

Is there anything left for me?

Those promises we both had made,

your voice that kept me somewhat sane,

You had to leave, I understand,

Because I couldn't fix you.

The words you spoke, "I'll always be there",

Those words I held dear were full of care,

Yet now I'm alone and don't know what to do,

But I have to go on, and await your return.

I know it's not your fault you had to go,

But my love for you was so strong though,

I long for the day you come back to me,

For separations makes the heart grow cold.
