Words creeping into the

Back of my mind

Into my soul

Words tearing at my heart

Words slithering in between

Truth and lies

Words pounding

In my brain

Breaking down walls

I didn't even know

Were there

Words

Powerful things

Words can heal

Even the most

Fragile of people

Or shatter what's left

Of their being

Words

I always feel like this is how I feel when I need to write. It's like words just keep pounding at you until you get your feelings down on to paper. It's only then that I may find peace.

I read of how a transgendered youth from Ohio, Josh Alcorn, had been bullied mostly by words
and then decided to end his life. Not because of the hackneyed "man trapped in a woman's body"
conundrum, but words, (can you imagine that) words had taken their toll. I read your review
about the poem I wrote on Bruce Jenner, and thought just how mature you were to brilliantly
acknowledge the correct gender when referring to her. In todays world of internet humor
and faceless judgments, that simple act took insight and courage.

Words are weapons. And placed in the wrong hearts, awful weapons. And thank you for sharing
your poetry with us....

I remember reading about Leelah. It was a tragedy.

And yeah, she recently stated that the big interview that happened would be the last time she goes by "Bruce", so I decided it's time to refer to her as who she wants to be referred to. I have a friend who is trans, and so I know how important it is to use the right pronoun when they come out publicly. I hate when people intentionally use the wrong pronoun as an act of defiance towards the person.
