For those of you who haven't seen the movie Ghost, a man is killed and the movie is about him trying to prevent his girlfriend from getting hurt by the person who killed him. My mom and I used to watch this movie a lot, and when we first watched it when I was little, the word Ditto stuck with us for the rest of her life. Instead of saying I love you in this movie, the character simply says Ditto.

I remember this movie well. My wife and I watched at least a dozen times, and she cried every time. It bothered her so much she asked me to never say "ditto." Perhaps she had similar fears? Now, you're living with that memory. I know they say "time heals," but I've always questioned that. I think the scars just become a bit tougher, but they always remain. A touching poem written from the heart.

I don't think time heals the pain, I think we just make room for the pain. Thank you for reading this one, too!
When a relationship is just going through the motions and an emotional conversation turns to an almost business-like one, it is very sad. You have described the scene eloquently. Vivid imagery. Lydi**

A beautiful memory you have shared here, Brittany. Those little moments, words, "inside" comments - they seem so routine, but how empty our world becomes when they are gone...
Great reference. It is funny how we get so hung up on what the other does or doesn't say, and don't pay more attention to their actions. I have no use for words without intent, and intentions without the words are much more important.:) That all said, what a nice write.
