Journal 1: Take Me HomeA Poem by RenStarting the journal of RE.N
I.
We're all victims of our own crimes We quest in the unknown for unseen treasure No safety but what other choice do we have? Leaving our life for something to measure The darkest of hearts, filled with great love The brightest smiles, at a loss of luster Away from home, all people lose what they are Minds beckon for that simple comfort. II. I am a pride-filled shadow A leader in a pack of none I hold a curse of my own make Self-pity in all the right I've done Shame is a unique opponent Stabs at your ears, but never touches Screams at the heart, but does not fill Stars shine away from this duchess A cold cave takes us, endless Dark and damp, an onyx contort I walk in with open arms Welcoming what little comfort III. Watching your shadow disappear Is the most painful for the sun It's own reflection, smothered Man carries similar conviction We go for a walk in our cave get lost, only to learn the path A sense of direction stronger than nature's wrath. © 2011 RenAuthor's Note
