Remembering Me

Remembering Me

A Poem by Lindsey Manic Muffin

Maybe.

Maybe they will.

The tree will bloom and reach it's peek.

But someone always tears it down.

Curse the life that I have known.

Curse the people who let me fail.

I smile back into the dead.

Dead surrounding me.

But maybe.

Maybe they will remember.

I'll pick up the pencil.

Let my mind speak for me.

Words, hear my heart.

Speak for me.

For I cannot.

Let them see.

Into my mind.

Maybe they will remember.

Maybe.

I'll close my eyes,

Smiling all the while.

Holding the future in my hand.

Watch it grow.

Curse out the darkness.

Curse out the dead.

Look to the future.

You will remember me.
