chapter 4

Michael has defeated the Bilereous monster(the spider), allowing him to climb out of the pits of hell.He now faces a daunting task before being able to pass through the Elysium gates.

The gates that stood before Michael were made out of pure gold,untouched from the effects of time itself.They stood between the Elysium portal which played as access to heaven.This portal would take the souls who were worthy and send them straight to heaven if they ever became lost. The gates also had strange inscriptions spread out across them.All of them untranslatable.

Michael walked up to the gates and ran his hands across the golden surface.It was as smooth as the day that they were created.

"How do I open these doors?"

"You don't." Laughed a childish voice,almost as if mocking Michael.

"Who goes there?!" Yelled Michael,drawing the sword.

"I've been watching you.Your not like the others in this place."

"Show yourself!"

"Your not exactly human are you?I can smell it."

"Show yourself coward!"

"Such harsh words coming from an insect like you."

"If you are such a great and powerful demon then why not reveal yourself?"

"A demon?Oh no, I'm no demon."

"Then what are you?"

"Human.Just like all the others here."

"Human?How did you manage to come to this place without being caught?"

"Did you not hear of the escape artist Harry Houdini?"

"Houdini?"

"Yes.I was the worlds greatest escape artist.Always impressing the crowds with the way I would always survive...but that was long ago."

"You died whilst being punched if I'm not mistaken."

"My greatest blunder."

"You have no reason to hide from me Houdini."

Out from the shadows stepped a figure so morphed and twisted that it made Michael apprehensive.It was half human on the left side of its body, but the right side looked like someone had molded it with clay.It was so twisted and demented that it was beyond recognition.

"Not a pretty sight I must admit,"Houdini let out a sigh of sadness."but this is who I am."

"My god.How did you end up this way?"

"Lucifer."

"He did this?"

"Yes.I would sometimes claim to have the power of god on my side to help me escape.Once I died and was sent here, Lucifer laughed at my delusions.He was quick to pounce on me then break my body."

"Do not worry my friend, I will be putting an end to him once I free myself from this place."

"If what the wall says is true then I will let you pass."

"What the wall says?"

"Come."Houdini led Michael to a wall covered in many different images.They were telling a tale.

An image of a man stood up against Lucifer with no fear.The two would battle endlessly before Lucifer finally perished.The surrounding landscape was nothing but rubble and chaos.

"This tells of the warrior who will  rise up against Lucifer and kill him.It shows of a man that will do something that God can not."

"Why doe God not do this?"

"He does not intervene with this kind of stuff.God can't intervene for it might cause the very end of existence itself."

"So there is noway to change this prophecy?"

"No.Once a prophecy is foretold, there is nearly noway to prevent it from taking place.This prophecy is about you killing the very original evil."

"If I kill him then that would free everyone here in hell?"

"That is the unfortunate side.killing him would destroy this place.It would have no power to hold it together."

"So how do I kill him?"

"None know that answer.You will find it along the journey."

"So how do I open the gates?"

"The gates will open to those who are of pure heart."

"How do I become that?"

"You must let go of the past and forgive yourself."

"But I live with the burden of my family starting a world war that nearly destroyed the earth."

"That is a great burden...but you must let it go or you will never be allowed to leave this place.If you are to defeat Lucifer himself, you must forgive your sins."

Michael walked back to the gates and placed his hands on them.

"Forgive yourself."

"I am sorry for what my family put the earth through,but if I do not pass then I can not save the very existence of the universe.God forgive what I have done in the past,for the past is the past.I can not remain in the shadows anymore."

Suddenly, the gates began to glow brightly.They slowly but surely opened inwards towards the hidden room.Inside was a massive room containing a mirror stuck into the wall at the opposite end.The room was filled with jars of different smelling oils,flowers, and gold items.

"Do not take any of the items Michael.Taking them will corrupt you and ultimately prevent you from using the portal."

"Why do you not come in here with me?"

"I can not pass through the gate Michael.I have been touched by Lucifer himself.Plus I have many sins I can not be forgiven for."

"Then I bid you farewell my friend.It was good to know you while I could."

"Just kill that son of a b***h,that's all you need do."

With a gentle nod,Michael walked to the mirror and took a deep breath,closed his eyes, then pushed against it.But he did not move.It did nothing. Michael was filled with utter confusion,it made no sense.

"This does not make sense.I can't pass through the portal."

"Hmmm.Maybe you need to say something?"

Michael thought hard for a second before realizing what needed to be done.

"I pledge my undying loyalty to you God.My love and faith will hold me strong until the very end."

The mirror cracked and splintered all over before shattering in to a thousand pieces on the ground.What was behind the mirror was a long tunnel leading forwards into a bright light.

"Go Michael,follow the light.There isn't much time!"

With his head high,Michael sprinted through the tunnel following the light.Once he got to the end of the tunnel, small veins of light latched onto his arms slowly pulling him in.Michael struggled against the tethers pulling him in but it was as if they were other worldly. The veins eventually pulled him into the light sending him falling down in a never ending abyss.

"Oh s**t!!!" Screamed Michael,falling deeper and deeper.Then as fast as he had started, Michael was now laying on a flat surface.It was where he had been killed.Blood and all still remained.

'I'm back."
