LightbulbA Poem by Rayne MurrayLove is a lot like a lightbulb
You go out of your way to get it started take your time waiting for it it heat up and then it's lit And it's bright and hot and full of life and then in a flash it's gone Sometimes it's quick and other times you watch it fade Sometimes you can see the warning signs like a bit of flickering or the light just doesn't appear as bright Sometimes the bulb is just a dud from the start and never lights to begin with or ends just as quickly as you screw it in You see lightbulbs are unpredictable The box tells you it will last a week, a month, a year even but you can't guarantee that the bulb will really last that long, and when it's out, it's out. The difference between love and lightbulbs is that with love sometimes the light can appear out to one person but the person beside them still sees it's illuminating glow. When a lightbulb is out everyone can clearly see it's gone, and when it's out, it's out. © 2016 Rayne MurrayAuthor's Note
