Drive Back the Night

Drive Back the Night

A Poem by Rayne212

I've been at war so long.

At war with my world.
At war with myself.

I'm so tired, but I dont have quit in me.

There are moments, though when the weariness overwhelms.

When I stumble.
When they swarm.
When hope drains like lifes blood from my veins.
When the darkness consumes.

Then she walked into my life wielding a sword of light.

Fearlessly she battled the demons that have struck me down time and time again.

I've never been so awe struck in my life.
I've never seen something so fearsome and beautiful. So brave.

But when her nightmares enter the fray, all doubt and fear melts away in me.

I'm there by her side with fire in my heart and hands.

Together we stand.

Together we drive back the night.
