Running Dry

Running Dry

A Poem by Ray

These days it seems as though my emotional bank is running dry
Or it's being held up on a constant basis
Bandits coming in and out sticking me up for my currency
Bandits with many faces
Some new, some old, some familiar
Some days they never make it past security
That's if I'm lucky
If they do, best believe my defense didn't go down without a fight
At the end of the day I'm so dry
But the tears in my eyes be so wet
Yet they're never wet enough to slide down my face
So my eyes stay swellin up with tears
That slowly dissolve seconds later
