A Poem by Raymond Federle

"

Cigarette ash mixed with an inky stain
Rings of coffee show where cups have lain
frayed edges and corners torn
scribbled note of a life that's worn

Pencil shavings lay through out
The spaces of words that silently shout
All the pain wrote down in ink
White out blots what I didn't think

Set to side when it gets to real
Go back to it when I feel, I feel
So filled up with weary thought
By candle light my soul is wrought

Platitudes and solace wane
Upon  desolate mindscape planes
Sheaves of note upon the floor
Show paths to reach my nevermore
