What I Know

What I Know

A Poem by Raymond Federle

There is a familiar sound I hear.

There is a known smell in the air.

All the loved ones gathered round.

To share in each others flair.

The wives, mothers and girlfriends are busy at the fire.

The kids are playing games.

The menfolk sit round drinking lighting shots.

And that smoke goes right to your brain.

Now I been around the block, once or twice.

I've seen what the world would offer a man.

But there's one thing I know, here is home hearth and soul.

And I'm firmly attached to this land.
