In the Fell Place

In the Fell Place

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

In the Fell Place

"

Buried in antiquity, swaddled deep in earths embrace.
Few have been there. Beauty and sacrifice demanded. Dwelling near to mother's heart, these halls resound.
Disguised in desperate silence, internal torture, dark memories still abound.

Beauty exacts her awful tribute, countless souls consumed.
Seeking out her time, infrequent travelers, unwitting guests, eternally ensconced in the fell places.
Behold her splendor at your peril. A grave ransom to be paid.
Hasty judgements, human failings, desperate apetite displayed.

Be wary intrepid adventurer, monstrous gods still dwell.
Deep in the earth by mother's heart.
Perverted beauty gnashing teeth, twisted intelligence exists there.
Darkened halls of ages past, yearn for mortal soul's sweet nectar.
