Shoulder to cry onA Poem by Raymond FederleShoulder to cry onForgive this external emotion of mine, for I do not hold it in high praise. But I run to someone's suffering, though my destination could torment me. There's a thought, that I could somehow turn against this harmful direction. Her quiet, dark revenge should endure; Scar her suicidally and palely embitter that wasteful innocence. Her disillusioned youth could conceal my jealousy; I am hardly painless. Kissing her rhythmically, I break her resolve of pain and recall our resting place. Our withered chains of sorrow could worship in love and rest in innocence. © 2014 Raymond FederleReviews
