Spider, spider.

Spider, spider.

A Chapter by Raymond Federle
"

A poem for my Ex-wife.

"

Spider, spider on the wall.

Spider, spider don't you fall.

Crawl across the ceiling tile.

Make two feet seem a mile.

And the spider goes, scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy.

Creeping down the the hallway floor.

Underneath the bedroom door.

15 feet to the bed.

To lay it's eggs on your head.

And the spider goes, scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy.

Ooooo....To your ex-wife, eh? I like this. "Scritchy scratchy, scritchy scratchy". Gives me the willies, but that's because I don't like spiders. I'm not sure if I like the final line of sweet dreams, even though I know it's meant to be more personal. I would have liked to see a third stanza of four lines and an end with "scritchy scratchy", but those are merely my own preferences. I really like this. But then again, I'm growing a soft spot for your work
