Our Age

Our Age

A Poem by Ben Saini
"

Something relating to days gone by in an attempt to fuel nostalgia amongst generational spirits among us...

"

The legendary park,
The library,
Out all day till dusk,
The ice cream van
Simple life kicking the can

Down the road
Running scared
"Kingy" shouts
All the gardens
Best hideouts

"New Ball"
"New Bike"
All the rage
Highlight days!!
Keepy uppies, wheelies age

Sticks n stones
Bumps scrapes
No broken bones
Climbing frame, tree
Our gangs' thrones

Marbles galore
my best Shooter
Flicksies, topsies cards
Pegged In my spokes
The greatest Scooter!!!!

Soda pop truck dreams
Dandy-lions cream sodas
red tongue rascal slurps
No care for selfie likes
Just who can do super burps
...our age.

I'm coming back for more. There needs to be more. There needs to be a book. We should write to each other and mail it back and forth.
