LungsA Story by Soul FireWell Guys, Today I got to visit one of my Mom's friends,Pauline who I haven't seen in a while and it was great to see her! She's a RT ( Respiratory Therapist). I showed her my xrays, one from a year ago and my most recent xrays. She told me that because of the positioning of my spine before my surgery my spine's curvature was physically squishing my lungs to the point that the lower region/ bottom of my lungs were nearly done. She said that my most recent xrays look good and that my lungs should be fine now. ( This makes sense to me because I always complained that it felt like my lungs were being physically squished by my spine which made it difficult to breathe before my surgery.) She also noticed an infection or something in my lower abdomen in the xray from a year ago, and she said in my most recent xray it looked like it cleared up and was getting better. She told me that she isn't a doctor but that's what she saw and that it should be okay. She lastly noticed a shadow/ black spot in both my xray from a year ago and my most recent xray. ( I noticed it previously and was wondering what it was). In the most recent xrays the black spot has gotten bigger. She advised us to bring it to my doctor's attention when I see him next. But besides that she's really happy for me and everything looks good! It's such a relief to finally have a medical professional look at my xrays and clarify that my spine was squishing my lungs and constricting my ability to breathe. It's nice to have that verified. It's nice to finally know for sure that the way I was describing what I was physically feeling and experiencing before surgery was correct and literally happening and that it was verified by someone in the respiratory health field. Everything looks good and I feel fine and I will bring that ''black spot'''/ ''shadow'' to my doctor's attention when I see him in May! :) I'm so happy I got this surgery and had the opportunity to do so and I'm very thankful for my results and amazing progress... :) It's great to feel the relief that I feel after a long battle and rough road :) Now all I have to do is recover. :) Love always, Raya If you wish here are links to my Scoliosis awareness facebook page and my scoliosis awareness tumblr blog :) Thanks for reading! xx My Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/ScoliosisAwarenessTeamsSpine?fref=ts My tumblr blog http://titaniumwithin.tumblr.com/
