Colours of Rain

A poem about LGBT's and what they go through. I believe in love not gender.

Ignorant people ruining your day,

Telling you being who you are isn't okay.

Insolating you from the people you care for,

One day they're your friends,

the next they aren't anymore!

People calling you names,

like 'f*g' or 'dyke'.

They tell you who you are is a sin,

That it was a choice,

That it's not right.

I wonder how they sleep at night.

They tell you you should be a certain way,

That you can't like your own sex,

They think that isn't okay.

It's scary what people will do because they don't understand,

How can a woman love a woman,

and a man love a man.

Or a woman can be a man,

or a man be a woman.

They just don't understand,

How a person can love both or neither at all.

''How can it be?'' They think.

They think it's not natural at all.

The words they say make you feel so small.

Now for all those bignots,

Treating you like rain,

Lifting up their umbrellas,

and you are to blame.

They block out the sunshine,

and the rainbow too.

All the colours

Coming down on them,

Is the beauty that is you!

So now to those idiots,

Who say that's not okay.

Stick your special finger in the air,

and Walk away.

sticking out that middle finger and walking away seems to be more liberating than just saying go to hell to bigots. i wish i could do that...in time.... i love the raw emotions you impart on this piece!
