HideA Poem by Soul FireA poem about how harmful words can be. Sometimes, more harmful than actions.Your words burn as they cut through my skin. Your tongue stings, but I let it go in. You drag me down to the ocean's depth. You drown me until I'm out of breath. You cut me open, unbind my stiches, and tear me apart. Your words infect my mind, They poison me. You chain me and bind me to the lies. You leave me alone in the emptiness of the desert. You leave me there, full of forbidden thirst. You beat me, just when I thought this couldn't get worse. You leave me there hanging by a thread, You laugh thinking that I am certainly dead. There I am hanging, hanging by a thread. I am on a clift, I am holding on by a fingertip. Certainly, I will be dead. There I am on my way to nothingness, Like the empty desert you left me in. Somewhere between worthlessness and nothingness is where I hide.
