Bittersweet BeginingsA Poem by Soul FireWatching families fall apart. What happened to falling in love and having a heart? Children watching love run away, Having to see their parents walk out, And one to stay. The other parent having to pay, What happened to love and marriage? It can’t just go away? Can it? No, I can’t question it. I’ve been in love before, It just can’t go away? Love doesn’t just land then soar. I guess some aren’t willing to fight, Maybe they thought it’d be easy. Maybe they once were in love. Maybe they weren’t meant for each other? Maybe they were young loves? How will we ever know what ever went wrong; If we always sing the same old song, of pointing fingers at the other, Instead of accepting our part, Forgiving, And loving each other? Maybe that’s how they grow apart? Maybe they just weren't ready for their journey to start. But I promise when I get married someday, And start to raise a family; I promise I will fight until my last breathe. I promise I will stay, I promise I’ll be willing to work it out, Instead of giving up Like so many have. I won’t give up. I promise. I promise I’ll stay. I love you, baby.
