WavesA Poem by Soul FireA poem about feeling overwhelmed.I’m suffocating beneath the waves. How will I survive? If they find my body, How will they revive me? As the water enters my lungs, As death and pain intertwine. I’m barely still alive, As you pull me below, Farther than I thought I could go. I know this death is meant to be mine. I am taken away by a whirlpool, I am thrashing against the tide. I‘m inside the whirlpool, What a wild ride. Here I go inside this black whole, Beneath the rapids and waves; Not knowing where I am, Not knowing where I‘ll go. Where am I? I don’t know. Here I am in the ocean, somewhere, As waves crash against me, I don’t know who or where I am. But will you hold that against, my dear? My lungs start to burn, As I’m overwhelmed by the sun. I ’ve been taken captive by the waves, I am a slave of the waves, The ocean has surely won. Farewell, My dear. I really wish that you were here.
