Memories

A Poem by Soul Fire

I look at my room, at my bed room wall.
I see all the memories,
They stand out they stand tall.

The memories of the guy who once was my best friend,
But infatuation got in our way, and that had to end.

The lovely sunny days of Grade Three,
When I sat in the grass alone.
Empty and lonely.

The memories of the girl who changed my life,
The one who I helped.
The one who I liked.

The memories of all the good and bad,
The tears down my face and the laughs we had.

Memories of Barbies, Toy trucks and Blues Clues.
Memories of childhood, and becoming a teen.

Why are people so mean?

Memories of the loneliness I’ve felt.
Memories of the pain I’ve caused and dealt.

Guys saying things that would make me melt.

I try to focus on the good,
But it’s kind of hard when you’ve spent so long being misunderstood.

I never thought anyone would like me,
Like who would?

Then I feel a shiver as I walk towards my back wall,
And I see something that stands out most of all.

It’s a decoration that says ‘’ I’m so glad you’re my friend.’’
Sadly,
That friendship had to end.
