Hidden in a Sea of Pain

Hidden in a Sea of Pain

A Poem by Soul Fire
"

Dedicated to a dear friend of mine.

"
Secrets hidden behind her smile.
Are unrecognized for quite a while.

I considered her a friend.
She was so smiley, even then.

But inside she was nearly dead,
She’d stay home, quiet as come be.

Feeling so lonely,
Even when she had company.

I didn’t understand what could be wrong,
She kept this smile on her face,
It looked out of place.
I knew something was going on.

I asked her about it,
Or at least I tried.

Later I discovered the truth,
She punished herself for things she didn’t do.

The cuts on her wrist told a story no one knew.
She was the most smiley girl in the world.
No one noticed no one knew.
When people finally noticed it was a discovery for all.

''Why? Why Rainbows?''

I asked her one day.

Her answer

‘’I just wanted to pain to go away.’’

Wow. Those were very powerful words to me. I like this poem alot. It's really sad when people blame themselves for things they didn't do. I actually used to be one of those people. Well.. Still kind of am. But it's a working progress. :) Keep up the great writing. I really do love it.

Looking in on someone else’s pain rather than your own and what you don’t have what a quaint idea. People say what a good writer not realizing you really, really need to write about so I must make note of your passion rather than your ability to spell… Passion is what matters here. Your friend is lucky to have you. Keep it up
