What happened?

What happened?

A Poem by Soul Fire
"

a Poem about my Dad...

"
Watching you in your filth.
Claiming you are happy,as you drift.

You are completely surrounded by broken dreams,
You bash yourself.

Inside,you want to scream!

You hate your job,
your past,
your present.

Your decisions in life.

You took some pills,one summer.
Which messed you up in the head,
You tried to take your life.

The pills wanted you dead.

Some things,many things you dread.

You haven't dealt with your past.
Cannot keep a relationship that'll last.

Your friends you barely see,
Your children don't even know a thing about this secret life you live.
It's a secret,kept by you and a few.
Your kids can't know a thing about the ''new'' you.

You keep these secrets locked inside.

Everything to keep,everything to hide.

You secretly plan to hurt your wife,
You've left her, hurt her and almost made her take the knife.

You've ruined her life,
And left her alone,
with two kids not fully grown.

And now when we think that's all in the past.
You say you want to sell their house,
and have a divorce.
AT LAST!

What happened to a man I barely knew.
This guy is not you!

Awwh, this is such a depressing poem Raya! It really is. It brought tears to my eyes that your dad hides his life away from you and your other family members. I'm guessing that that's him in the picture at the top? I hope he realizes that the pills that he took probably made his life worse off than it really was? Pills aren't the solution to drown problems. That's not the real way to face reality. I hate that once you thought everything was back to normal that he decided to sell the house and have a divorce. It hurts when you think you know someone that meant so much to you throughout all of your life. Well written, and touches the heart! :))
