Giver

I would give my heart to you,

But you would take it away.

I would give you my life,

but you would just abuse it and through it away.

I would hand you my memories,

You'd take and burn them.

I said I would always stay,

and you told me to leave and go away.

I gave you my everything,

and you just took it all.

I got nothing in return,nothing at all.

Taker

You handed me your heart,

I didn't know where to start,

sO I just took it and tore it apart.

You give me your life,

I took it,

and Kept it.

Gave you nothing in return.

You told me you loved me,

and I nodded ''okay.''

Everything always has to be my way.

You told me everything,

So I took it,

and told the world.

You told me that you'd always stay,

I told you I needed''space.''

So go away!

You gave me your everything,

So I took it and sold it on Ebay.

Anything and everything you gave me,

I took it,and gave you nothing in return.

How badly that must sting,how badly that must burn.

Givers & Takers.

I give you everything,

You give me nothing.

I'd give you anything you wanted,

and you'd just keep it or give it away.

I promised you that I'd always stay,

you nodded and said ''okay.'

I gave you everything..

I got nothing in return.

It was as if you expected me to give you everything,

While you sat back and didn't give me a thing.

I would have taken a bullet for you,

and you just wanted to play with me.

I refused and you got mad.

I walked out and now your sad.

This is the dance of Givers and Takers,

Which one are you?

Find the right match,

or else it'll be hard to choose.

Definitions:

Givers are people who give in a relationship.

Takers are people who take in a relationship.

A healthy relationship has a healthy balance of give and take otherwise your relationship can and will become unhealthy and will be more beneficial for the taker,and the giver will be left in the dust.The taker will always expect more and want more. The Giver will always give more and expect less.

So now I must ask which one are you?

Amazing poem. :) I'm a giver...I felt trodden on and misused in my last relationship with someone, and it hurts to feel so small and unappreciated sometimes when you try to be generous and think you are doing your best to make another happy...but they act like it's the opposite!
