The Dance of Dysfunction

The Dance of Dysfunction

A Poem by Soul Fire

The dance of dysfunction.
Has been passed on through years,
Has been passed on my misconceptions,
been passed on through tears.
It's the father married to all his beers,
It's the child with all the fears.
It's the mental case of an aunt,
It's the grandmother abused by people of years.
It's the ungrateful cousin,
It's the crazy church lady.
It's the creepy old man,
Who's kind of shady.
It's the dysfunction of a drug abusing home,
It's the dysfunction that I have grown in.
It's the abusive Dad,
and the little girl who is told that she is 'bad.''
It's the drug addicted aunt,
Who controls her mother,
Her brother cannot protect her,
because she'll fend for the other.
Dysfunction is popular in my  life.
Watch out for it.
Do not take the knife.
My family puts the ''fun'' in dysfunction,
and that is right.
