Drowning

Drowning

A Poem by Soul Fire
"

A true story.

"
He pushes me underwater,
He will not let me go.

I didn't take a breath,
I will die and no body will know.

He holds me down,
As I try to swim up.

He puts himself on top of me,
I cannot reach air.

I am slowly loosing myself.

I feel my soul start to depart.

I have a vision,
Of me, father and son.

It gives me hope.

I struggle,
 trying to get back up.

He let's me go,
as I get away.

I look around,
No one saw.

It's the busiest day at the pool.

And nobody saw at all...

Not even the lifeguard,
Not a single child.

I was under there for quite a while.

I felt myself start to slip away,
I nearly died,
But I survived and lived another day.

Author's Note

 Soul Fire
This poem is a true story about when one of my many abusers' in my life tried to drown me,I hope you enjoyed it. I enjoy every breathe I take since that day. It's interesting the simple things in life we take for granted. But when we really need them...There out of reach..

Well, you have my condolences to the personality that departed your body that day; for it seems you adapted a much more hopeful persona as of right now, no? For a second, I could've sworn writers cafe glitched up on me (again) and listed my poem under your account; that is until I unraveled the story held within your poem, heh.
