Think About itA Poem by Soul Fire
You look at your weight on the scale,
You've gained a pound, You start to wail. A little girl on the other side of the planet, Just went on a camel ride, Her 60 year old husband by her side. They walk home after a long day at the market. You look at yourself in the mirror, A hair is out of place. Your heart starts to race. While on the other side of the globe, A little boy is lost and all alone. Growing up without parents. He's lost and distraught since his sister was bought. Your cellphone bill is way to high, You curse and swear at the sky. While, A family down the street barely have enough to eat. You look around the house and shriek. Your house needs a new paint job. While your neighbour next store, Just got robbed. And they lost way more than the time before. You look out side and complain about the weather. While a solider and his wife cry, Because they can no longer be together. You look at your hands, Your nail polish is messed up. You shout and complain. Meanwhile, Some child stepped on a mine, and blew up. You look down at your shoes. There old and dirty. Meanwhile a girl is beaten and abused after her dad had a few too many booze. So think about it before you complain. Some where else, Out there, There is some one in much more pain.
