True Love

I run into the farmers fields,

In a flowy dress.

I roll around in the hay,

God I’m such a mess.

The hay straws are netted in my hair,

You pull my hair away from my face,

I’m glad your always there.

And as I chase you up the hill,

To the tree, we named ``Will’’

We carve our names in his bark,

As our first kiss gives our love such spark.

You hold me tight, on the hill,

We climb up Will’s branches’,

We hope we don’t end up like Jack and Jill,

And need some serious bandages.

I race away from the hill,

Hoping you are to follow,

I go to the lake,

Looking for a suit to borrow.

Since I couldn’t find one,

I jump In the river,

As you follow.

I swim underwater,

Hidden from sight,

I hope you find me soon,

So you can kiss me goodnight.

I see you in your trousers,

Shirtless, and gorgeous, as you jump in.

Flawless, are you.

As I fall deeper for you.

And as I feel the rush of your skin,

I tickle you and swim away.

Not today, bucko, not today.

I wink as I swim away.

Your not far behind,

As you come, and pick me up from behind.

You kiss me and tell me ``I love you, my darling, mine..’’

You swim away,

As I chase,

You make it fun,

As we race.

We kiss  underwater,

And say silly things.

Then lay in the grass,

As we caress each other with our lips.

Your arm around my hips,

As you lift me up to a tree,

I pick an apple,

And eat it you see.

We run back to the house,

Hand in hand,

Listening to country music,

We ran and ran.

We sit at the table,

And eat sandwiches.

Mmm..mm..mm..

You kiss me on the cheek,

And hand me some water,

I smile at my lover.

Later that week;

As he bends down on one knee back at Will, the tree..,

I run to him and hug him and scream yes!

As the happy tears run down my cheeks,

He smiles at me, and wipes them away,

``No, tears, Not today, darling not today, not again, as long as your with me.’’

He wipes away my tears again, as they flow down my cheeks.

He kisses me, and holds me tight.

``I love you.’’

He whispers.

As every night,

Before we turn out the lights.

And I’m glad I’m yours.

Okay, I think this is the first poem that I cried to ever! Girl, you seriously put me into tears. It's so beautiful and really well-written. I like how it shares a story that seems so real. You gave us a vivid imagery to use our imagination with and create pictures in our minds. I think it was adorable that the tree they called "Will" was the same one that he purposed to her too! All of the events that happen in this poem, I hope really happens to me one day in the future (or it can happen sooner than that) Haha. :D This does seem like "true" love no doubt about that. It's an experience I want to go through. Well done, indeed :D
