The Girl of Forgotten ThingsA Poem by RayaShe is the one who sees true beauty
The blades of grass lay flattened
Underneath children's eager footsteps But one girl was tender The soles of her feet dancing away Over the delicate meadow life Skipping over painted flowers and leaves Stopping, she sat by a sapling of a tree The plant long forgotten was withered and bare But the girl thought it was the most lovely of things And she caressed the rough branches staring in awe The girl was so special to the world For she saw the beauty in small forgotten things
