In The Comfort Of RestA Poem by Matthew Soliguen
Sleep, my dear sister, the moon says goodnight,
I'll see you again by the morning's first light, When the rays of the sun turn the fog into dew, We'll wake up together, and I'd say "I love you." cause when I am with you, my life is more than a mess, When we're together, alone, in the comfort of rest.... Go to the world of mysterious dreams, Where nothing goes wrong, and the good fills the seams, Where no one is sad, where no one is bad, Where people never, ever get mad, where you are the princess, waiting for your shining knight! till morning reaches us, we'll be dreaming together tonight.... And nightmares will reach us, and our hearts it will test, But we'll be together, alone, in the comfort of rest..... Run! to the fields, where marshmallow grows! The farmers would smile as they reap what they sow, This is a perfect world, for you to roam, where each path you take, will always lead you back home, And everything we do, are the things we do best! Together in darkness, alone, in the comfort of rest... And, as the morning comes, When you open your eyes so slowly, the blinding light shines on, And it brings with it a new day of worry, But I am not afraid, and neither are you, What we dream of is perfect, so we'll make it come true, If it never happens, then we'll shrug cause we tried our best, So let's dream again tomorrow, alone, in the comfort of rest........ © 2017 Matthew Soliguen |
