TimeA Poem by Matthew SoliguenTo a woman I loved.
I gazed at her eyes, and cherished in wonder
As blue as the skies, her love holds the power. It brings rain at the drought, and heat in the summer. Brings flowers at spring, and ice in the winter. I held her in place, her hands all around me. A kiss on the cheek, and a heart full of envy. Cherish the blossoms, as light as the spring. She needed my heart, and I gave her a ring. A spring has passed, and summer began. She still holds my hand, and we laughed at the sands. Distance draws near, as she walks here for miles. A tear on my cheek, as she walks down the aisle. The summer has passed, soon autumn will come, A child on my arms, she bears me my son. The autumn soon changes, and snow starts to fall, My child brought a woman, so beautiful and tall. Winter will soon pass, and my son has married, A child on his way, and his daughter he carried. Spring soon starts, and my grandchild starts running, My wife by my side, as my son teached her biking. The spring starts to fade, and so did our lives. We rocked on our chairs, and the truth we abide. The spring has passed, and so did my love, her coffin went down, but her soul went above. The summer has started, but near is my time. Wait for me Anna, soon I'll cross the line.
