Moments Before

A Story by RayLynn

Looking up, I noticed for the first time how beautifully decorated it was. Zach was standing arms length away from me, our hands were clasped so tightly together, I thought we’d never let go.

My eyes scanned over the crowd. They were all very sharply dressed in brilliantly bright colors. I caught sight of my mother in the front row, dressed in a floral print dress. It was a crisp white dress with pink, purple, blue, and red flowers all randomly strewn across the fabric. She also had a wide white sunhat on that expanded over her perfectly styled blonde hair. On the side of the hat was a fresh cute daisy held on my a thin pink ribbon tied around the hat.

I was only moments away from saying the two most important words of my life.

I am wondering if it is about your mother or mother was just a metaphor in this writing.
brilliant expression with emotional words.

I liked the tension you created with this short piece. There should be a sequel! And even a prequel...:)
