The Fake Girl

The Fake Girl

A Poem by RayLynn

When you see the fake girl walking down the street, do you stop to talk to her? Or do you pass judgement and go about your merry way?

When you see the girl with a porcelain face, do you see the pain hidden behind her smile? Or do you see an attention starved young woman with too much time on her hands?

Did you ever stop to think that maybe the girl who has the best poker face is truly the one suffer the most?

Perhaps her body is more of a shell filled with demons from her past

Or perhaps she's nothing more than a shadow of what she used to be, a dark reflection of the beautiful girl she once was

Maybe she's just a girl drowning in her sorrow, her red rimmed eyes screaming out for help

Maybe you're the person who will just walk by and not throw her a life ring

love it. Though to be fair, I am critical of girls with bedazzled iphone cases. I also realize I'm not perfect ;)

A good look at how we are all so alone surrounded by others and how we can't truly know someone, unless we make the attempt to get to know them. Enjoyed this very much.
