Wildflowers

Wildflowers

A Poem by RayLynn

Oh darling, could we be carefree as summer wildflowers swaying in the breeze?

Could you let your guard down long enough to get lost with me in time and space?

We’re overworked and exhausted.

I sit in our office and look out the window to see the beautiful flowers bending and flowing with the wind.

If only we were still as calm as those flowers.

The rush of the city, the baby’s cry, the dog’s whine;

These sounds inundate us with movement and stress.

And if I could, I’d pause time just to be with you.

Maybe then the world would see how at peace we are as we learn to dance just as those purple flowers do.
