WaitingA Poem by RayLynnLet me tell you a story of a girl waiting on a boy; His voice was that of a hundred choir boys, dripping sunshine from every sound, His hands were stronger than she’d ever imagined they’d be, His heart was full of gold, His head full of reason and logic and in his words, she found a safe haven she’d never known before. He was safe. He was steady. He was strong. He was support. But most of all he was home. The girl had been searching for a home and had finally found a place she belonged and could call hers. But she was left waiting. Waiting for him to choose. Waiting for him to act. Waiting for him to show up. And sitting there that day, with her heart in her hands, she thought she’d never stop waiting. © 2017 RayLynn |
