Starry Eyed

Starry Eyed

A Poem by RayLynn
"

A Spenserian sonnet for my love

"

Across the room I catch his eye, round one.

He smiles and suddenly I feel quite shy,

Round two flows and I start to come undone;

Heart pounding, head spinning, mind set to fly.

Love has overtaken me, my smile’s sly.

The world’s in his eyes, the stars in his smile,

The moon reflects his soul, our love shan’t die,

No matter the distance, nor the long mile.

Swept off my feet, heart stolen with agile,

A lifetime to find such camaraderie,

I’ll have way to stay, even if by guile.

His voice is now a timeless melody.

I won’t forget the way he looked at me,

As he professed his love down on one knee.

And beauty behold the days of wonder, the heart beatethed no more for love runs the vains like slopes to an underground Oceanic main. How beautiful!
