Immortals

We all want to have a legacy.

To know our time here wasn’t wasted.

We try and try and try to break down the barriers,

We try so hard to be something in the world.

Our lives are spent trying to live after death,

And have our names written into history.

There’s a story much the same,

Of a great warrior and king, Beowulf by name,

He slayed monsters and challenged the dragon,

And when he died, his men told of his glory.

In a way we all aspire to be a hero;

To be humble, truthful, loyal, brave, and not be forgotten.

And just as Beowulf lived on in stories,

We’ll be remembered,

Our lives will become legendary.

We will be Immortals.
