Run the World

This is for scholarship and I could really use some feedback on it i'm a little unsure about it still

People often see the world in black and white.

There’s the right and wrong choice,

The moral and the more dubious choice.

 

But some see the world in another kind of black and white.

They see skin colors and pigments,

And assume things based on looks.

 

What they don’t realize though,

Is their judgments say more about their character

Than it does the person they say it about.

 

I’m not the most intelligent, or the best looking

I’m not an athlete or an artist

But I do have a heart of gold, and I care about everything

 

Racial Equality begins with me,

Not because I’m the best person for it,

But because I’m brave enough to take a stand.

 

I’ll let my voice be heard,

My actions be noticed,

And my thoughts be shared;

 

I’ll destroy the stereotypes,

Put out the fire of hatred,

And break down the walls.

 

This world is ours to run,

This life is ours to live,

This experience is ours to enjoy,

 And everyone should stand equally in it.
