LIFE

LIFE

A Poem by Raymond A. Hiraldo

If a river flows too fast, won’t it start to rage?
If one always stays home, then, doesn’t home feel like a cage?
An even balance makes LIFE, so why try to make it more or little?
For too much makes you seem selfish while a lack of it makes you brittle

Fail a little bit and all that’s said is, “Aww shucks!”
Fail a lot and from those moments on “LIFE sucks”
If things don’t go as planned then don’t try to jump the gun
And LIFE only sucks when you haven’t established one

Because for as long as you’re alive and physically fit
You ultimately have the power to sculpt and change it
If LIFE doesn’t flow evenly, then, everything won’t feel like it fell into place
Because you won’t know LIFE’s peak if you don’t first suffer in its base

Look:
Love & Hate...That’s LIFE
Quick & Wait...That’s LIFE
Enemy & Friend...That’s LIFE
Beginning & End...That’s LIFE!

So you see, there is always a push, and a pull
And that balance is what allows LIFE to be so full
That normalization is what makes LIFE flow so seemingly
And as for the meaning of LIFE? It’s, Let It Flow Evenly
